The five elements were considered by the Chinese as the five forces of nature that stimulate and shape all human and natural activities.

In Tibetan tradition, earth, water, fire, air and space form a Mandala, the Mandala of the 5 elements which make up our universe.

An imbalance in any one of these elements will affect the balance of the whole universe. Mandala refers to a symbolic image of the world in all its perfection, a world in which living beings, the products of the earth and the environment join together to protect life.
